By accessing or using Papercut ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Papercut is an article extraction API service that converts web article URLs into structured markdown format. The Service is provided on a paid subscription basis with a free trial period for new users.

3. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your API keys and account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Complying with these Terms and all applicable laws
  • Ensuring your use of extracted content complies with copyright laws

4. Acceptable Use

You must not:

  • Use the Service to extract content from websites that prohibit scraping in their robots.txt or terms of service
  • Exceed your subscription's quota limits
  • Share your API keys with others
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits or security measures
  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose

5. Payment & Subscriptions

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. You authorize us to charge your payment method for the selected plan. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the billing period ends.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice for existing subscribers.

6. Service Availability

We strive for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may suspend service for maintenance or updates. We are not liable for any downtime or service interruptions.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent or illegal activity. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of extracted content.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Papercut shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the Service.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
